Storyboarding

Storyboarding
After a brainstorming session with my group, we had an idea of how we want our trailer to look and some cutscenes. The next step for me was to make a bunch of storyboards. I focused on key shots while doing it so we could have an idea how the final piece would look like. After I was done sketching I imported my work into the AVS Video maker to see how long the trailer would be.

Vegas Pro
After we had a general idea how the trailer would look like it was time to move on to next part.
WIP no.2
This time I created a set of scenes in Vegas Pro. It was a practise round until the final trailer comes out later this year.

Fox movement
The movement is created by camera movement. By using Pan/Crop function i was able to move the camera in time. Therefore, eventhough the fox looks like its moving is acctually in place. Pan/Crop was one of the most usefull function I learned. I could create an ilussion of movement with literally 4 clicks.

Birds - greenscreen
First, I had to find free to use footage of birds flying. Once I downloaded it the rest was actally quite easy. The trick is to use FX Chroma Keyer - Green Screen and the green backround dissapears and we’re left with the transparent version of the video. Next, I uploaded it on the upper layer so it can be visable. Same polycy applies to any greenscreen video.

Tree movement
For the tree I not only used the Pan/Crop function but also on top of that i added a FX Deform option. Every fuction in Vegas Pro can be animated just by modyfying it throug the timetable. Just like this I created an effect of a ligt wind blowing through the leaves.

Clouds
Clouds are made by using Vegas Pro media generator. The movement is created the same way trees are and the fox - just by modyfing the effect within the timeline.

In the end I uploaded all the scenes I created and renedered it into another work in progress trailer teaser. This is not the final project - by doing this test im able to edit videos in Sony Vegas and use some of its functons.
