Logo Design
For our logo, we decided that the main part would be a kitsune mask since it is the main part of our game.

Before I started drawing I wanted to make some custom colour pallets and research so the colours and design of our mask stay true to its original design. Next, I sketched out and coloured in the kitsune mask.
Then I added some ribbons because it is a part of traditional Shinto priestess attire. Therefore it further impacted the connection with the protagonist
At this point, it still looked a little bit too simple so I decided to add a fan behind it. A traditional Japanese craft from the Edo period.
After looking at the finished product I felt like something was missing. I wanted to give our logo a more traditional manga style. I looked into the way the traditional manga artists finish their work. The way they use screen-tones to stade their drawing gives their work a unique style. So I decided to do something similar.

Duplicate the base colour

From the Layer propertied - Effect section - select the tone option

This would automatically change the tone of the layer as well as give u the options to modify that tone.

Lower the frequency and set the dot settings to - circle

This would allow you to see the tone better as well as give that traditional manga effect.
I was pleased with the effect the screen-tone gave me but I still felt like something was missing. So I decided to add a traditional wave pattern to the back to see how I like it.
I was happy with the result. However, the artwork resembled a sticker. This unexpected result gave me an idea to keep this format end experiment a bit with the colours and then create an online shop where you can purchase merchandise from our game.// future project//
Finally, I decided to give our logo a strong black outline to make it stand out. With this final decision, I was completely satisfied with the logo I created. After showing it to my group and hearing their positive reaction the logo was officially accepted and it’s proudly representing our game now.
This design doesn't have the screen ton shading - icon design. We wanted the mask to stand out more. Icons are usually small so we decided that less detailed version was more suitable for it.
